About
Gino Anthonisse (1988) is a Dutch artist based in The Hague, The Netherlands. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and graduated in 2014.
He investigates the role of wonder in his work by creating an alternative reality. The monumental silhouettes from his previous work have a sculptural character. In his new work, he will further implement this by making clothing that no longer needs a body. An experiment where clothing, stock photos, optical illusion and sound come together to form sculptural "life-size collage installations".
In addition to this he is co-founder of Das Leben am Haverkamp - a collective that represents four artists, Anouk van Klaveren, Dewi Bekker, Christa van der Meer and Gino Anthonisse. Together the collective creates the novel context necessary for their individual practises and unrestricted way of working and thinking.
